Emotional
Freedom Techniques (EFT) is a popular form of emotional acupressure that
anyone, even kids, can use. It is a holistic, (no-harm) effective healing
method that has been in use worldwide for over 30 years with no reported
negative side-effects. EFT or “tapping” as it is commonly known, often results
in nearly instantaneous, measurable physical and/or emotional healing which
occurs when the tapping re-balances disruptions in the body’s energy field that
are related to unhealed fear, trauma, anger, sadness, or other negative
emotions. Properly applied, it is
non-traumatizing and relatively painless, even for intense issues such as
childhood abuse and combat trauma.
EFT
appears to work at the intersection of mind and body. It has been used to
relieve everything from headaches to phantom limb pain and traumatic memories
that can hold people hostage for decades. EFT has a solid, evidence-based track
record of healing that has yielded many cures that medicine and
psychiatry/psychology have been unable to match. It often works where nothing else will.
Since EFT and other energy healing methods are in the public domain, a license is not required to teach or use them.
