Birth Doulas or Labor Assistants provide emotional and physical support to a woman and her partner, suggest comfort measures, assist with providing information for making informed decisions, assist with creating a birth plan, facilitate a "birth team", and remind clients that pregnancy and birth are normal, natural, life processes.
