I am a family wellness chiropractor practicing in the Raleigh area for the last ten years at Gray Family Chiropractic, PLLC. After receiving my undergraduate degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, I attended Life University in Marietta, GA where I received my Doctorate in Chiropractic. My practice specializes in the care of pregnant women and children. I am one of four chiropractors in NC that has received her Diplomate in Pregnancy and Pediatrics. In addition, I am certified by the International Chiropractic Pediatric Association in the Webster technique, a technique used specifically for pregnant women. The Webster Technique normalizes pelvic biomechanics, releasing any uterine constraints and allows a baby to position itself in the best possible position for birth. It is especially effective for women with babies in any breech or transverse lie position. I am passionate about educating expectant Moms about the benefits of chiropractic care during their pregnancy and how it can affect the birth process. I have found that pregnant women are becoming more interested in making natural choices surrounding their pregnancy and their health care providers. Chiropractic care, in my opinion, can and should be an essential part of the prenatal care of pregnant women. It can allow labor to progress more smoothly, often shortening delivery time, and making medical interventions less necessary. It helps the expectant mother deal with the physical, hormonal, and mental stresses that are regularly placed upon her body during pregnancy. Common complaints that are alleviated with chiropractic care include Sciatica, Round Ligament Pain, Lower back pain, and Pubic Symphysis Dysfunction. I encourage Moms to have their babies checked by a chiropractor that specializes in the care of children following the birth process. Even the most natural childbirth can cause undue stress to the newborn’s spine. Gentle chiropractic care can alleviate many common newborn conditions such as breastfeeding difficulties, colic, reflux, and fussy babies. Chiropractic care can help proper spinal development to occur for your child and optimize your child’s health potential. I live in Raleigh with my husband, Marc, and we have two beautiful children, 7 and 4. Please feel free to email me if you have any additional questions.
